Courses for exchange students

Our department currently provides two courses in pharmacology for exchange students:

  1. Basic Pharmacology
  2. Clinical Pharmacology

Both courses are one-term course composed of several seminar sessions of 105 min, guided by a member of the staff of the Dept. of Pharmacology, Drug Development and Therapeutics. The studies in these courses are based on self learning and complementary frontal sessions. Before each session with the tutor, the students are asked to prepare themselves for the session by reading the corresponding chapters in the textbook, and by answering several multiple-choice questions. The teaching language is English.

The course in Basic Pharmacology is held at the beginning of the year, and is consisted of about 11 meeting. The course in Clinical Pharmacology is held each year in the autumn, and is consisted of 6 meetings.

For more information or to register for any of the courses, please contact Prof. Mika Scheinin (mika.scheinin@utu.fi) or phone: +358 2 333 7502.
