Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care, Emergency Care and Pain Medicine
The Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care, Emergency Care and Pain Medicine of the Turku University Hospital is dedicated to provide health care services of the highest class within the specialty. The Department is engaged in advanced research in many areas of the specialty.
In addition to clinical services and research, we take care of the development, organisation and delivery of teaching in anaesthesiology, intensive care, pain medicine and emergency medicine to undergraduate medical students. We have an anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine residency training program for students who have finished their undergraduate studies. The Department also offers postgraduate training for students who wish to obtain special competence in cardiac anaesthesia, emergency medicine, intensive care medicine, neuroanaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia, pain medicine or pediatric anaesthesia.
